Scott Ashton leads TIQ’s International Education and Training Unit, which collaborates with private and public education and training providers to strengthen Queensland’s international education and training industry.
Scott has held leadership roles in a range of Australia and China-based private and public organisations over the past 10 years, where he focused on domestic and international trade and investment with a specialisation in international education.
Moving from public-sector educational administration into the private sector, Scott was founding Chief Operating Officer for Australia’s first secular non-government school system, and founding Chief Executive Officer for China’s first international kindergarten system for Chinese students.
He was a senior executive at James Cook University and Operations Manager for a national childcare chain before joining TIQ in 2016. He previously led TIQ’s International Markets team, which provides frontline support to Queensland’s trade and investment commissioners and their overseas teams.
Scott holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance), and undergraduate qualifications in science, education and law.
