Hon Julian Hill

Assistant Minister for International Education

Julian Hill was elected as the Member for Bruce in the Australian Parliament in 2016 and re-elected in 2019, 2022 and 2025.

Following the 2025 election, Julian was appointed as the Assistant Minister for Citizenship, Customs and Multicultural Affairs, and the Assistant Minister for International Education. Julian previously served as Assistant Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs between 2024-25. Prior to this he was Chair of multiple Committees including the Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit, the Select Committee on Workforce Australia Employment Services and the Defence Subcommittee of the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade.

Julian was elected as a Councillor at Port Phillip City Council at the age of 25, and became the youngest ever Mayor of the City, before holding a number of senior executive positions within the Victorian Public Service, working in economic development, employment, community development, urban planning, local government, migration, and international education. 

Julian graduated from Monash University with degrees in Science and Law, has a postgraduate qualification in International Relations and is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) Victoria.
